Ben S. Hyland is a BAFTA Rocliffe winning comedy writer/director.
Ben won the 2023 BAFTA Rocliffe Comedy feature competition with his script, JUMPERS. In the same year he won the British Comedy Guide Spring Sitcom writing competition with his pilot script, THE TWINS. He was also selected to become a member of BAFTA CONNECT.
His debut feature film MY DOG MADE ME DO IT is scheduled to shoot in 2024.
Ben has written and directed a cluster of successful comedy short films. His most recent, THE SNIP, stars Edinburgh Fringe winner Ciaran Dowd as well as Sunil Patel and Rebecca Shorrocks.
His previous shorts BLEEP, TALK RADIO and QUIET CARRIAGE have screened at festivals including LSFF, Frightfest, Aesthetica, Encounters, LOCO and LA Shorts before featuring on flagship platforms including Short Of The Week and Omeleto.
When not making films he's testing out new material on his unsuspecting wife, children, cat and dog whilst also grieving for his dead hamster, Rhino.
