Seán is a Dingle-based writer and film editor who has been working in the film and television industry for over twenty years specialising in documentary, drama and feature films.
In recent years Seán completed an MA in screenwriting where he received a first class honour for his “The Brink” and since 2024 his award winning short film "Scríofa sna Réaltaí (Written in the Stars)" has been enjoying a successful run on the international festival circuit. He recently received development funding under the Céim Eile scheme and was selected for the 2025 Screen Ireland mentoring scheme, partnered with writer Paul Walker.
His first comedy pilot “Limelight” placed very highly in the BBC Writers Room and in 2023 his first short film, Irish-language family film “Scríofa sna Réaltaí”, was directed by the multi-award winning Vincent Gallagher and produced by “Sin É films”. The award-winning film has enjoyed a successful run on the international festival circuit and was broadcast on TG4 and a host of European broadcasters.
His drama script “An Mháthair” received development funding under the “Céim Eile” scheme and will be produced by Keeper Pictures this year. His Irish-language script “Saoirse" received development funding under the “Gealán” scheme which is funded by amongst others TG4, BBC and NI screen and his crime series “The Brink” was selected for the Creative Media Europe drama workshop with Emmanuel Oberg in 2022.
