Steve Lawrence is a Jersey-born, Scotland-based comedy writer with experience in comics, radio, television, film and interactive storytelling.
He has been part of the BBC Comedy Room, BBC writersroom Scottish Voices and is a member of BAFTA Connect. His passion is sitcom and along with co-writer/director James Kayler, he has shot taster material starring Kieran Hodgson, Stevie Martin and Thanyia Moore & started 2024 with a commission by ITV to write a sitcom pilot. Past credits include the award-winning Sketchtopia, Comic Relief, ITV2’s Retreat Yourself, Channel 4’s Person On A Chair and ITV1’s National Lottery New Year’s Eve Big Bash.
He loves to collaborate with other writers, directors and talent; Dancing On Ice winner Jake Quickenden called his work ‘very funny’ and former England international footballer and Champions League runner up Peter Crouch was so moved by working with Steve that he wrote about it in his book ‘How to Be an Ex-Footballer’.
